                              ORDINANCE NO.   10462 
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                   PART II, CHAPTER 24, SECTION 24-101, SO AS TO
                   ADD A NEW SUBSECTION (F) RELATIVE TO PERMITS
                   FOR SPECIAL EVENTS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that Chattanooga City Code, 
Part
         II, Section 24-101 be and hereby is amended by adding a new
         subsection (f) as follows:
              	   (f)	The City Traffic Engineer may, in his
              discretion, waive the thirty (30) day requirement set
              forth above for block parties and street festivals for
              which adequate plans can be made to protect the public
              safety in less than thirty (30) days, provided,
              however that any such application for a special permit
              shall be filed not less than seven (7) days prior to
              the event.
             
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance 

         shall take effect two (2) weeks from and after its passage as
         required by law.
